Abstract

All species formerly attributed to the genera Helice and Chasmagnathus are revised and reclassified. Both genera are redefined and are now restricted for species from east Asian seas (Chinese, Japanese and Korean coasts). New genera are introduced for the species from South America (Neohelice n. gen), New Zealand (Austrohelice n. gen) and those from the subtropical and tropical Indo-Pacific (Pseudohelice n. gen.). In total 16 species are recognised of which 3 are new.
