Abstract
We present formally a search space representation method in combinatorial optimization problems, as well as a tool for the visualization of the trajectories of heuristic algorithms based on this method. A software that develops the ideas of the formal method is presented. Several numerical examples are given. © 2007 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
