Tumors of the sellar and parasellar region can be challenging to treat. The high density of critical neurovascular structures in this region often necessitates a multidisciplinary approach involving medical oncologists, neurological surgeons, radiation oncologists, and endocrinologists. Over the last few decades, stereotactic radiosurgery has emerged as a safe and effective treatment for tumors in the sellar and parasellar region. In this chapter we review the types of tumors encountered in the sellar and parasellar region and discuss the role of stereotactic radiosurgery in their treatment, including indications for treatment, technical strategies, and outcomes.
