Abstract

Alloplastic solid implants can be used for a wide range of facial enhancement procedures, including augmentation of the cheek and chin as well as of the forehead, temple, nose, lateral mandible, and other folds and depressions of the face. This chapter will focus primarily on the operative considerations for the two principal indications for solid implantation, the cheeks and the chin. These anatomic zones represent the most common reasons for augmentation with solid alloplasts and, for the sake of clarity, will be the only two areas discussed. © Springer-Verlag 2008.
