Some thoughts on the big and small matters of medieval geographical knowledge

by David Harvey
Dialogues in Human Geography ()

Abstract

Reflecting on the relationships between geography and the disciplines of history and archaeology, this commentary on Lilley's (2011) article questions a periodised view of the world. Thinking through the nature of these disciplinary relations, and on notions of temporal scale, therefore, this short article seeks to make space for how geographers can engage with medieval subject matters in new ways.
