Abstract

In recent decades, tourism industry has rapidly developed, and that also brings various impacts to the destinations and nations, particularly in economic impact. Therefore more and more experts would like to contribute to this field, and research different types of tourism. This study will concentrate on sports tourism, Olympic Games and the various benefits and impacts experienced by host cities and host countries. Further to discuss if the Olympics create good opportunities to improvement of national and international image and what impacts will be generated by the event. In general, the impacts divide two categories which are positive and negative. Based on this research, it will get abundant reasonable and valuable methods, effective experiences. Then, to minimize the negative impact, encourage the positive one. © 2011 IEEE.
