Which Standard Should You Choose?

Abstract

The author reflects on the fitness and utilization of several green building standards in energy conservation. He considers the use of standards in promoting energy efficiency and reducing facility's environmental impact including ENERGY STAR, American Society of Heating Refrigerating & Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) 189.1, and International Standards Organization (ISO) 50001. Moreover, he notes the importance of being a certified green building standard and an efficient energy user.
