Abstract

This paper aims at discussing problems and practice methods that design managers met when managing design team, which are beneficial to the establishment of an efficient design team. Focusing on the poor communication among team members caused by inherent characteristics of this industry and the concept of humanistic management, it analyzed designer's characteristics, the composition and features of an efficient team. Based on this analysis, it summarized the key points of communication and coordination mechanism in management, talent management that meet the requirements of designers and the pyramid-like management structure of design team. © 2011 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
