Abstract

Conducting composite films of cis-1,4-polybutadiene with polypyrrole were prepared electrochemically. Polymerization of pyrrole was carried on cis-1,4-polybutadiene-coated platinum electrodes. The composites having different polypyrrole percentages showed conductivity in the range 10-1-10-6 S/cm. Conductivity measurements were done by using the standard four-probe technique. Characterization of the samples was carried out by FT-IR, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) techniques. Temperature dependence of electrical conductivity was also studied. © 1998 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
