Synthesis and isomerization of azobenzene dendrimers

Abstract

3,3′,5,5′-Tetramethoxyazobenzene and related meta-substituted azobenzene dendrimers show the first evidence of the dendritic effect on trans-to-cis photoisomerization; the thermodynamic parameters for cis-to-trans isomerization have been determined. © The Royal Society of Chemistry and Owner Societies 2003.
