An analytical model that correlates the impact of new design and production technologies on maintenance training device efficiency is presented. An analytical framework is built and an appropriate decision model is derived. The decision model is used to evaluate technology's impact on maintenance training. Two main results emerge as the model is explored. First, the model provides procuring agencies with the ability to satisfy multiple objectives and produce balanced design specifications. Second, the decision model described shows that technological innovation positively impacts the cost effectiveness of training system fidelity. Future issues in model research and technological impact are briefly addressed.
