The fauna of the FertőHanság National Park (2002)

Abstract

Sixty three ant species are recorded from the Fertő-Hanság National Park. Myrmica microrubra Seifert, 1993, Stenamma debile (Förster, 1850), Tetamorium impurum (Förster, 1850), Lasius jensi Seifert,1982, Formica fuscocinerea Forel, 1874, & 2 other species of uncertain status (one Tetramorium & one Solenopsis sp.) have not been published in Hungary formerly. Three other species have been regarded as extremely rare in the Carpathian Basin. On the basis different estimation indices, the recorded number of ant species is reliable in 55% of the localities, whereas in other cases an underestimation is probable.
