Abstract

The primary connective tissue diseases (also called collagen vascular diseases) are likely autoimmune with poorly understood mechanisms. This chapter reviews the non-autonomic neuropathies associated with the primary vasculitic and other connective tissue diseases. Connective tissue diseases rarely accompanied by neuropathy are not discussed (e.g., mixed connective tissue disease, relapsing polychondritis, the spondyloarthritides, dermatomyositis, Henoch-Schönlein purpura, and Behçet's disease).
