**Description**

**Chief Water Services Officer**

The Chief Water Services Officer provides executive leadership, strategic direction, and management to ensure that Colorado Springs Utilities' mission, vision, and values are implemented and followed. In this position, you will lead and manage division staff in the delivery of water and wastewater services to our community. The Chief Water Services Officer reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

**Responsibilities include:**

+ Serving as the Executive leader overall water and wastewater operations for Utilities including staffing, budgeting and managing day-to-day operations

+ Ensuring reliable supply and delivery of water and wastewater services

+ Participating on the officer team in setting overall strategic direction for Utilities

+ Leading the Water Services leadership team in setting the strategic direction for the Water Services division

+ Selecting, leading, directing and developing direct reports

+ Meeting with board members and community leaders

+ Analyzing operations to evaluate the performance of the division and staff and to determine areas for cost containment, reductions, and program improvements

+ Directs and coordinates operational and capital budgets to fund operations, maintain and improve infrastructure and increase efficiency

+ Establishing a culture where safe work performance is paramount where employees take personal responsibility for safety by caring for themselves, their co-workers and our community

**What will it take to be successful?** A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or another professional degree along with 10+ years of utility experience and 5+ years of managerial/leadership experience is preferred. Specialization in water or wastewater experience beneficial. Additionally, you must have the ability to develop partnerships with our customers and provide Integrated and long-term strategic, operational and financial planning to ensure we are able to meet the water and wastewater needs of our community far into the future maintaining quality services and affordable rates.
