The Company: Darlington-based care provider HC-One has announced the creation of 130 new jobs in its Darlington Support Office following its recent agreement to acquire 122 Bupa care homes. The Role: We are looking for a Junior System Analyst to help support, maintain, configure and improve key business systems used throughout HC-One. You will support senior system analysts in providing good sound technical solutions to business problems faced by HC-One. As part of this you will be required to: - Develop a good working knowledge of the functionality and data structures within the HC-One IT systems - Analyse and document business problems - Provide sound technical solutions and document designs - Liaise with development team to coordinate development effort - Actively manage product backlogs and roadmaps - Provide support and consultancy to the wider business users - Maintain comprehensive documentation of all business systems - Work with all levels of staff to establish their system requirements and advise on their technical feasibility. - Identify areas of improvement in systems and work with the Service Development Manager to implement change - Develop an understanding of other IT functions and work as part of a team. - Undertake all duties confidentially and in accordance with industry best practice. - Take on any additional responsibilities and duties commensurate with the post as directed by the IT Service Development Manager The ideal candidate will have the following: As this is a junior role, we are looking for attitude and capability rather than focussing on experience. We will consider graduates or candidates with junior IT skills who are looking to develop in applications and systems support. You will be able to demonstrate: - A basic knowledge of systems analysis and some experience of IT systems - An understanding of the healthcare industry and systems - Good initiative and a willingness to learn - Good time management and organisation skills - Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines - Good communication skills to be able to deal with colleagues of all levels of the organisation, including those with limited technical knowledge - Ability to work independently and interact with all levels of the organization. - Strong written and verbal communication skills Other beneficial but non-essential experience: - HND/Degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, or related subject.
