The School of Humanities and Performing Arts wishes to appoint a temporary 0.5 FTE Lecturer in English Literature for 10 months to start on 15 September 2020.
As our Lecturer in English, you will be expected to contribute to teaching on the undergraduate programme in English. You will be required to teach on and lead the second-year ‘Twentieth-Century Literature’ module and the third-year ‘Modernism and Modernity’ module. An interest in Modernist periodical cultures would be particularly useful in connection with the latter. You will be required to contribute to module development and administration, and to carry out other duties consistent with the post, such as participating in Open Days and attending relevant subject, school, and faculty meetings.
To be successful, it is essential for you to have achieved an undergraduate degree in English Literature or a relevant cognate discipline, a PhD degree in a relevant subject completed or near to completion and experience of teaching English within Higher Education.
