Head of Workplace Projects and Strategy APAC
RFP Vendor Management Work within Corporate Procurement guidelines to appoint and manage external vendors required to execute project to include project managers, design consultants, general contractors, and specialist contractors such as furniture and AV installers Coordinate capital planning activities for the business with internal asset managers and cost managers. Release projects to third party providers at appropriate time to deliver projects in line with business commitments and maintain a steady workflow for the capital projects organization. Responsible for managing contractual issues Analyse bids, interview bidders and evaluate qualifications. Manage relationship with multiple strategic outsourced service providers, including monitoring of performance /KPIs and any corrective actions required.
Knowledge and Skills:
Organizational skills: Ability to plan own activities, prioritizing work appropriately with minimal guidance. Able to multi task and juggle multiple interactions and projects simultaneously across geographies. Demonstrates effective time management.
Execution skills: Follows processes and reporting requirements. Handles work in a timely, accurate and thorough manner. Demonstrates ownership of tasks ensuring excellent attention to detail. Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of Project Management and an understanding of facilities implications on implementation and execution.:
o Extensive Project Management expertise for interior construction in multi tenant buildings, preferably with external qualifications to demonstrate competence and leadership capabilities in multiple markets
o Proven track record of delivering complex high profile projects, on time, on budget and to a high quality standard. (Experience in financial management of projects; average project is USD $3MM.)
o RFP and contract negotiation experience
o Extensive experience in managing vendors with positive results
o Able to achieve consistent best practices in project management process
o LEED or BREEAM experience preferred
o Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Interior Design or Architectural Degree
Communication: Strong verbal communication skills, able to speak to all levels within the organization as well as to third parties with clarity, credibility and authority. Strong written communication skills to be able to relay information over email effectively. Good listening skills to ensure instructions are understood in a fast paced busy team environment
Client service: Demonstrates a willingness to assist and resolve problems. Proactively looks for ways to improve the client experience. Able and willing to travel Internationally on a frequent basis
Minimum 15 years of experience construction management, Workplace Stratergy and Project Management
Required to travel if needed to project location
Ability to work on both long and short-term projects
Experience in managing teams and concurrent deliverables
Success in building and maintaining relationships including negotiation and change management
Self-motivated , proactive , client focused and results oriented
Experience with data visualization and analysis tools
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be strategic and draw business conclusions
