The School of Computer Science and Informatics is based within the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Media. It offers a wide range of courses to undergraduates and postgraduates in line with emergent demand and the nature of these fast-moving, competitive disciplines. Due in the first place to the international nature and high influence of the school’s academic research, Computer Science at DMU is ranked 201/500 in the Shanghai Ranking of Universities and in position 201-250 in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. The Cyber Technology Institute (CTI, www.dmu.ac.uk/cti) was recognised by EPSRC and NCSC as an Academic Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Research (ACE-CSR) in 2019. Alongside the university as a whole, we have huge ambitions for the future in terms of our offering to students and the quality and scale of our research.
We are looking for a talented academic to join the School of Computer Science and Informatics as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer to contribute to teaching in Cyber Security, Networking, or Digital Forensics: undergraduate, postgraduate, apprenticeships, and professional development. Research within the Cyber Technology Institute (ACE-CSR). Engagement with external stake holders including the CTI Industrial Advisory Group (Airbus, BT, Deloitte UK, Rolls-Royce).
The successful candidate will contribute to the School's taught provision and research in the Cyber Security area, with a particular preference for candidates who can contribute in the areas of Industrial Control Systems, Digital Forensics, or Cyber Psychology. The individual is expected to contribute to the CTI’s wider research and innovation agenda, including industry collaboration, its commercial offerings and its international outreach activities as well as contribute to the development of our taught and apprenticeship programmes.
The post falls between grades. (Grade F salary range: £34,804 - £38,017. Grade G salary range: £39,152 - £49,553). Grade and salary will be decided dependant of experience.
