Are you an experienced in public sector procurement policy and compliance with excellent communication and influencing skills.

The UK Atomic Energy Authority have an excellent opportunity for a Procurement Policy Manager to join their team within the Procurement department. The team consists of circa 14 members and are responsible for all UKAEA procurement activities.

Key accountabilities/responsibilities include (these must reflect what is in the job description) Simplify either as short bullets or a paragraph describing key responsibilities

-responsible for delivering the Procurement service in line with Procurement strategy, organisation strategies and objectives to the appropriate standards and legislation. This require building relationships and consulting with Procurement Managers and internal stakeholders to establish credibility and support
-Contribute with the Head of Procurement`s to ensure Government Commercial Operating standards are met
-Contribute (with Procurement Managers) to assist with the ever-changing Cabinet Office controls and ensure they are embedded into procurement teams knowledge base
-Implement policy best practice to feed into the Procurement Management tools
-Identify trends and new legislation and design initiatives to address these issues in conjunction with the Procurement Managers

The UKAEA hosts and manages the JET nuclear fusion energy experiment on behalf of the EU and is also home to the UK`s MAST-U fusion energy experiment. UKAEA also works with industry and other third parties to develop new technologies currently in Remote Handling and Materials research. Following recent UK funding two new centres of excellence in tritium fuel handling and component testing and validation are being built. The culture at UKAEA promotes research, innovation and leading edge technological excellence, whilst investing in its people.

Knowledge skills and experience

Essential

- Experience or knowledge and understanding of Public Sector Procurement and use of OJEU
- Good interpersonal skills
- Excellent IT skills
- A good technical appreciation of Government Commercial rules and regulations
- Experience in compiling accurate and reliable reports and papers

Desirable

- MCIPS qualified

Special requirements:
