Research Fellow in Geophysics
Applications are invited for the post of Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Geology/Geophysics.
The Research Fellow will be primarily responsible for the processing and initial interpretation of a 2D seismic dataset collected in 2016 using the R/V James Cook as part of a multi-institute international project. The work will be performed in collaboration with other current staff (PhD students, research fellows) at Birmingham, and will involve substantial liaison with partners at other Universities, both within the UK and overseas. It is also likely that the successful applicant will have opportunities to contribute to other ongoing research projects in the groups of Professor Reston and Drs Stevenson, Maffione and Jones, potentially including laboratory and field measurements (depending upon their interests and expertise), and will contribute to the supervision of PhD and MSc students in related areas within the group.
Further information on the group’s activities and interests can be found at www.birmingham.ac.uk/research/activity/geosystems/index.aspx
