Tasks:



ABB is seeking for Research and Development Software Engineer.



Basic Function: Research and Development Engineering comprises the investigation, evaluation and potential application to product development, requiring broad technical engineering knowledge.

Follow specific instructions of supervisor or more experienced engineers to perform the less complex professional assignments requiring application of standard engineering principles and practices. Use computers and selected programs for such matters as preparing reports and conducting analyses.



Typical duties/responsibilities for engineering may include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Perform the less complex research & development tasks associated with various engineering activities. Monitor progress, comply with quality and schedule requirements, and maintain detailed logs and records.

* Use computer programs to perform various research & development operations, conduct analyses and provide related data and information. Compile and assimilate data from various sources, conduct relatively routine operations and tests, prepare reports and develop graphics for presentations.

* Troubleshoot and resolve routine problems and assist in resolving more complex issues. Participate in, and assist engineers involved in a variety of more complex engineering activities.



Requirements:



Basic qualifications :

-Bachelor's Degree



Preferred qualifications :

* Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering or related field.

* Embedded programming experience (academic or job)

* Experience in C or C++ programming languages.

* Web programming experience a plus.

* Experience with the Linux operating system a plus.

* Preferred familiarity with software lifecycle (waterfall, agile)

* Capability to read and understand hardware schematic a plus.

* Software internship work experience desirable.

* Goal-oriented and have a strong work ethic.

* Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment.

* Strong problem solving skills.

* Right to work in the U.S. without employment based sponsorship
