**Description:**

The position is responsible for research, planning, architecture, design and Level IV support of a complex global data network.

*CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:*

• Plans and designs innovative enterprise-wide Border network solutions that include integrated financial analysis of technical alternatives to meet business and redundancy requirements.

• Leads the development, prepares recommendations, and produces technical position papers that define the architecture standards for Border infrastructure.

• Produces and maintains timely, accurate engineering documentation to lead implementations, support operations, and develop quality and compliance requirements.

• Designs system tests, performs capacity planning, and continuously optimize traffic flows through the network and border infrastructure.

• Establishes criteria and performs technology evaluations, including lab analysis and proof of concept along with supporting analysis and documentation in order to implement new Border network technologies that benefit the organization.

• Frequently interacts with suppliers to influence their products and services in directions favorable to the enterprise.

• Applies experience to improve functional area business processes.

• Leverages tools to enhance functional area productivity.

• Integrates technical knowledge with communication, leadership and business skills.

*POSITION ACCOUNTABILITY / SCOPE:*

• Demonstrates a strong customer-centric approach, has empathy for global cultural differences, and excellent verbal and written communications skills.

• In-depth knowledge of IPv4 and IPv6.

• Experience with external IP registrars, nationally and internationally.

• IP addressing design experience in both the Public and Private addressing space.

• Has a broad understanding of IT infrastructure platforms (cross work stream, e.g. Compute, Storage, LAN, VoIP, NGFW, VPN, IDS/IPS, Load Balancers, etc...)

• Provides technical thought leadership in both business-as-usual and crisis conditions.

• Lead technical teams in a multi-vendor environment through Major Incident Response situation where required, providing clear communications to Sr. Management

• Has the ability to effectively communicate complex technical topics to Sr. Management.

• Able to communicate technical knowledge to non technical business units.

• Leads cross-discipline infrastructure projects and exercises sound judgment.

• Works on complex technical problems and provides solutions that are highly innovative, cost effective, and operationally sound.

• Takes the initiative to act independently to achieve organization objectives, uncover, and resolve issues.

• Must be able to work effectively in a team environment, promoting teamwork and collaboration.

**Qualifications:**
REQUIRMENTS:
*Minimum Education:*

* Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science/Engineering, Telecommunication.
*Minimum Experience / Training:*

* 3 years IT experience in a large multi-national corporation with 150 global WAN sites.
* NGFW design and implementation
* IDS/IPS design
* Network Access Control design and configuration
* VPN, client and clientless, S2S,
* Preferred Certifications: CCSP, CISSP, CEH
