**About the Opportunity**

This is an open position with FENOC, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [DBN]

The Nuclear Engineer; Cyber Security Specialist at the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power plant responsibilties include:

+ Assisting in protecting Critical Digital Assets (CDAs) from cyber threat through monitoring and auditing of CDAs;

+ Understanding the cyber security implications surrounding the overall architecture of plant networks, operating systems, hardware platforms, plant specific applications, and the services and protocols upon which those applications rely;

+ Ensuring cyber security assessments of CDAs are performed and documented prior to being presented to Cyber Security Assessment Team for review and approval, this may include working with another organization such as Engineering, Emergency Preparedness, or Security, or a combination to complete the assessment;

+ Conducting cyber security investigations involving compromise of CDAs and preserve evidence collected during cyber security investigations to prevent loss of evidentiary value;

+ Maintaining expert skill and knowledge level in the area of cyber security; and

+ Receiving specialized cyber security training from recognized organizations.

+ Attending vendor training and maintain the necessary up-to-date skills and knowledge in core competencies of data security, operation system security, application security, network security, security controls, intrusion analysis, incident management and response, digital forensics, penetration testing, and plant system functionality and operations;

+ Providing cyber security guidance, assistance, and training for other staff members;

+ Reviewing programmatic and system-specific cyber security plans and practices;

+ Assisting in the designing, acquiring, installing, operating, maintaining, or administering security controls

Qualifications rfor the Cyber Security Engineer Include:

+ Engineering degree from an accredited university required. Computer Engineering preferred.

+ Cyber Certifications preferred.

+ 3-5 years' experience performing Cyber activities preferred.

+ Competency in the use of tools and techniques to physically and logically harden CDAs and networks to reduce vulnerabilities to cyber attack.

Qualifications at the Nuclear Engineer Level III include all of the above, plus:

- Minimum of 3 years professional engineering experience in the nuclear industry or 5 years of professional engineering experience in a non-nuclear industry required.
