We are looking for four Weekend and Evening Library Assistants to work in the historic Old Bodleian Library and Radcliffe Camera. These buildings house Humanities collections in English, History, Classics, Philosophy, Theology and Reference as well as the History Faculty Library and the Bodleian's Main Enquiry Desk.

You will undertake a range of library duties including answering readers' and visitors' questions, issuing/returning items, dealing with book supply/circulation queries, invigilation, book replacing, supporting the book delivery process if necessary and ensuring safe evacuation of the reading rooms.

The role involves lifting, carrying and shelving books, and pushing trolleys.

You will be educated to GCSE standard or equivalent, be reliable and punctual, be able to undertake routine tasks with accuracy, possess good IT skills and have a strong customer service focus. You will also have excellent communication skills.

These are permanent, part-time posts working 7 hours per week on average (0.2FTE), including: one Saturday shift (10.00am £ 4.00pm) per fortnight AND two evening shifts (5.00 - 7.00pm) per week
