We have been retained exclusively to hire the Real World Evidence Data Lead for a leading international Biopharma.

With an innovative and visionary approach, this Biopharma is leading from the front to drive a fundamental shift from the traditional reliance on Randomised Controlled Trials (RCTs) data to a new Real World Data-driven era where Real World Evidence will replace RCTs as the most influential source of evidence used by external decision-makers.

After forming a new RWE practice following significant investment and commitment from the Executive Committee, we are now searching for a talented and visionary individual to join as the new RWE Data Lead, responsible for designing and executing the global data strategy across the business.

This is an opportunity to join one of the highest performing and most progressive RWE teams in the world as they continue to drive changes to their own business and the wider Life Sciences industry. The position has very wide exposure across the business, including to Senior Management and the Executive Committee. The role also sits between the Epidemiology and Outcomes Research teams, acting as a crucial link within the RWE practice. It holds responsibility for data acquisition strategy and evaluation, audit of RWD sources, data platforms and analytical tools access, database study designs selection and usage, and acquisitions and/or partnerships with data owners to deliver the RWE strategy.

The company has created a promising pipeline to complement their strong platform of marketed products and ensure the continued growth of the business. Their culture and way of working capture their desire for excellence, to innovate, to work in a highly collaborative manner, to inspire a go-get and bias-for-action attitude, and to enjoy what they do as much as possible.

Successful candidates will have:
  • Master's Degree, PhD preferred
  • Proven ability to deliver successful RWE projects from conceptualisation to publication, preferably at international/global level, for 7+ years within the pharmaceutical industry, or from leading consulting firms or academic institutions
  • Comprehensive understanding of Epidemiology, Outcomes Research and Pharmacoepidemiology
  • Extensive knowledge of RWD sources and their application, including administrative claims databases, electronic medical records (EMRs), and patient registries
  • Publications in professional peer-reviewed scientific or clinical journals
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams and in an international matrix structure

The company would ideally like this position to be based in their Belgian office in Brussels; other international cities, including London, Dusseldorf, Cologne, and some cities on the East Coast of the United States, are also possible. The salary and benefits are highly competitive and dependent on the level and quality of previous experience.
