We are seeking an experienced Senior Technician - Analytical Development for our Biologics group located in Woburn, MA.

In this position, the Senior Technician will be responsible for developing new analytical methods and performing analytical laboratory testing according to existing methods. Experience in applying and/or developing these techniques for the analysis or process residuals, formulation development, biological product characterization or release testing, and/or biosimilar characterization will be beneficial. They will be expected to perform assay and equipment troubleshooting with minimal guidance from senior members of the group, and will be responsible for reviewing reports, raw data, other data produced by the group, and ensuring that all data packages are complete and compliant. The successful candidate will be part of a skilled analytical chemistry team, focused on the analysis of biologics in a client-driven CRO environment, working predominantly for pharmaceutical and biotech clients. The bulk of the work will be R+D, but there will be opportunities to learn and to perform to GMP compliance also.

The Senior Technician, should have experience in HPLC/UPLC and other chromatographic analyses, applied to the analysis of biologics, as well as experience in at least one of the following techniques:

+ SDS-PAGE, CE and other Gel-Electrophoretic analyses

+ ELISA / Immunoassay analyses

+ Extinction Coefficient Analysis / Amino Acid Compositional analyses

+ Glycosylation Characterization methods such as Sialic Acid or Monosaccharide analysis

The following are minimum requirements related to the Senior Technician - Analytical Development position.

+ Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in biochemistry, chemistry, or related discipline.

+ Minimum 4 years of related industry experience in an analytical laboratory in the Pharmaceutical, Biotech or contract research laboratory (CRO) environment.

+ An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

+ Ability to apply knowledge of analytical chemistry to complex assays. Knowledge of basic protein /peptide analytical techniques and demonstrated ability to operate typical laboratory equipment, specifically HPLC, Plate Reader, CE, spectrophotometer and other laboratory equipment required. Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, instrumentation and analysis software. Excellent verbal, written communication and organizational skills. Demonstrated independent analytical and problem solving abilities. Demonstrated knowledge of GMP regulations. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills to maintain communication across functional groups, and must be able to communicate effectively in a small group or one on one setting.
