**Fermentation Process Technician (Job Number: 192684W-01)**


DuPont's Fermentation Research Facility, located in Wilmington, Delaware has an exciting opening for a **Fermentation Process Technician** . The Fermentation Process Technician is responsible for operating SIP/CIP fermentation system at 10L and 200L scales by following the experimental design of a number of fermentation engineers. A successful candidate is responsible for setting up the fermenters, preparing seed flasks, monitoring/controlling fermentation process via SCADA system, processing samples for near-line assays, troubleshooting the processes based on the process data and near-line data, harvesting culture, cleaning up fermenters, and maintaining the fermentation system and its supporting equipment. The candidate is expected to work in a team environment within a rotating, two-shift operation, and is willing to work on a flexible schedule occasionally (including changing shift per business needs). Weekend work is required. Willing to work overnights on a shift or when the work requires it. A successful candidate also needs to communicate effectively with co-workers and partners on a daily basis, implement safety protocols, and write SOP's that enable safe operation of facility.

In order to be qualified for this role, the following is required:

+ Associates Degree or High School Diploma with equivalent experience

+ Must have demonstrated troubleshooting capability with process equipment.

+ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

+ Mechanically inclined

+ Teamwork skills; ability to interact effectively with co-workers, line management, and engineers.

+ Demonstrate ability to handle multiple assignments independently with broad guidance from leadership.

+ Time management of daily and weekly assignments

+ Willing and able to make, lift, and deliver maximal 40lbs of materials to the facility and other labs with or without reasonable accommodations.

+ Willing and able to work a rotating shift and weekend work.

The following skill sets are preferred by the site:

+ 2+ years or more of related experience

+ Awareness of data collection systems

+ Awareness of general biological systems

+ Awareness of working with hazardous chemicals and hazardous operations
