Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking experienced Propulsion Engineers/Leads to support Flight Engineering in the Puget Sound, WA area.

We are looking for experienced engineers/leads to join our Propulsion team. We need those who will be adaptable and willing to work in various roles and lead teams effectively.

In this role, you will lead teams responsible for:

* Defining requirements for various propulsion systems which includes the engine, controls, fuels, and auxiliary power systems for commercial aircraft and military derivatives.
* Defining, analyzing and integrating the functional and physical interfaces between the propulsion system and the airplane
* Developing specifications to meet customer and regulatory requirements

On this team, you and your team will document configurations, build designs and perform relevant analysis of related propulsion sub-systems and components. You will conduct various testing, modeling and utilize simulation methods to estimate or improve system performance (weight, cost, producibility).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):*

* Knowledge and experience in leading design, analysis and certification of propulsion systems, engines, fuels, and auxiliary power systems is preferred.
* Must have a Bachelor of Science or higher degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
* Must have 7 years industry experience in an engineering position.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

* It is preferred, but not required, to have knowledge and experiences in design, analysis and certification of propulsion systems, including engines and fuels. As well as experience leading teams towards common goals and solutions.
* It is helpful, but also not required, for you to have experience in one or more of the following areas associated with the architecture, design or analysis in support of 14 CFR Part 25 certification of commercial airplanes:

o Experience in showing and finding compliance to 14 CFR Part 25 regulations
o Prior ODA/FAA Designated Engineering Unit Member (UM/AR) experience
o Perform technical review of certification issues for cross model applicability
o Extensive utilization of Model Based Systems Engineering methodologies throughout the product development lifecycle
o Design, build and qualification testing of mechanical or electrical/electronic components, software, airplane fuel system, or Fuel Quantity Gauging System.
o Rotor dynamics analysis supporting the design and certification of turbine engines (14 CFR Part 33)
o Turbine engine component design, build and qualification in support of 14 CFR Part 33 certification of turbine engines
o Developing and managing relationships with customers, suppliers, peers, and other partners

Typical Education/Experience:

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
