The School of Engineering seeks to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join a new collaborative research programme, which will investigate the effects of radiation damage on the creep behaviour of materials at the meso-/macro-scale. The research has both experimental and simulation themes, in which you will focus on the impacts arising from radiation damage on the systems under examination, with post irradiation analysis of the damaged materials, using a range of techniques. You will also be responsible for co-ordinating sample transfers between the experimental partners. You should have knowledge and experience of radiation damage and how it impacts materials, and how it can be studied/characterised. You should have a PhD (or be about to obtain) in materials science, mechanical engineering, physics or other relevant discipline and have relevant experience of materials characterisation. The post is fixed term, available until 31 March 2021.

Closing Date : 9 July 2018
