Senior Polymers Chemist Innovation c£Competitive + Bonus +Benefits South East AB/J3649 An experienced polymers chemist is urgently required to work closely with Business Development and R&D teams to help drive the development of new technology platforms, deliver research & development programs and support the introduction of new prototypes and products to customer in the oilfield/ petrochems field. As senior polymers chemist you will drive the technical elements of product development for the Speciality Polymers in the oilfield/ petrochems arena. Key responsibilities
• Acts as technical lead for new business development projects and programs, including understanding customer technical needs, development of technical work packages, understanding technical (and commercial) risk and creating technical data to support access to new opportunity areas.
• Delivery of technical work projects and programs to drive new product/application area development.
• Understands application specific performance and regulatory requirements, and qualification processes to ensure data is relevant to the market.
• Works closely with business colleagues (and customers) to identify new business opportunities and deliver technical solutions/products that add value to the market. Help drive ideas generation in the oilfields and petrochems arena and concept assessment to ensure the value proposition meets the business needs.
• Pro-actively identifies, reports on and improves safety issues in the laboratory area; contributes to improving overall safety awareness.
• Provide expert support to Operations, Customers and R&D related to the chemistry, processing and applications of products.
• To have comprehensive understanding of technologies, products & applications with a view to developing new growth opportunities

• Plan, delver and administer projects or work packages through new Product Development system, including pilot and production phases to launch.
• Provide expert support to Operations, Commercial and Customers related to the chemistry, processing and application of the companies' products. Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience Required:
• BSC, MSc, PhD Chemistry, Polymer Science, Material Science, or a related subject. Experience of market driven product development, ideally with experience in the Oilfield product and services application area, proven experience of understanding customer needs and a strong technical pedigree to translate ideas into products.
