Department:Immunology and Infectious DiseasesPre-Employment Screening:Identity Job Function:General Administration Duties & Responsibilities:The Department of Immunology and Infectious Diseases (IID) was formed in 1997 when the Departments of Cancer Biology, Molecular and Cellular Toxicology and Tropical Public Health were merged. The department focuses on the biological, immunological, epidemiological and ecological aspects of viral, bacterial and protozoan diseases of animals and humans, including the vectors that transmit infectious agents. Research in the department's 12 laboratories is primarily focused on diseases of developing countries.

Reporting to the Director of Administration, this position provides administrative support to the department chair and associated research group and performs administrative tasks as a member of the department's administrative team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Managing complex calendars, schedules, and appointments

- Making travel arrangements

- Coordinating meetings and presentations

- Assisting with publication and grant preparation

- Creating and submitting expense reports and travel authorization requests

- Organizing meetings -- faculty meetings, retreats, research group meetings and department activities

- Coordinating Rubin lab activities as well as logistics between Dr. Rubin's collaborators

- Other duties as assigned

PLEASE NOTE: The schedule for this position is 37.5 hours/week.
