**Position Overview:**

The Senior Advisor develops policy positions with respect to wholesale energy market designs as well as GHG emissions market designs. You will have an opportunity to coordinate economic efficiency, practical implementation, and the meeting of policy objectives including strategies to integrate zero-carbon resources, energy storage, distributed resources, electric vehicles and smart-grid technology within this position. You will review developments in electricity and emission markets within California, the United States and elsewhere to determine best practices and to develop new and innovative designs to address the rapidly evolving electricity market framework. The Senior Advisor will work with internal stakeholders including power procurement, law, and customer service; as well as interface with external agencies including the California Independent System Operator, the CPUC, and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). **Typical Responsibilities:**

+ Reviews a variety of regulatory proceedings and stakeholder processes to evaluate their impact on SCE and the markets.

+ Works with internal stakeholders to develop a position for SCE and work with external stakeholders to develop alliances, make presentations, advocate for the adoption with agencies and regulators as necessary.

+ Represents SCEs positions in various internal and external forums including both written and oral presentation.

+ Works with the SCE legal department as necessary to file pleadings with the applicable regulatory authority to represent SCEs position.


**Minimum Qualifications:**

+ A Bachelor's degree in Economics, Engineering, or other related discipline applied directly to electricity and emissions markets.

+ Ten years of combined experience in Economics, Engineering, or other related discipline applied directly to regulated utilities, electricity and/or emission markets, or 10 years of experience in regulatory processes of developing and administering markets.

+ Experience in transacting with or interacting with regulated electricity markets and regulated utilities.

**Desired Qualifications:**

+ A Master's degree in Economics, Engineering or other related discipline applied directly to electricity and emission markets.

+ Experience in energy commodities markets.

+ Experience in regulatory and/or legislative processes, including regulated utilities.

+ Experience in generation dispatch and the operation of electrical systems.

+ Proven experience working with internal and external clients to reach consensus on issues.

+ Demonstrated business writing ability including making persuasive arguments.

+ Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.


+ Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship.

+ The primary work location for this position is Rosemead, CA

+ Position will require occasional travel to Sacramento and San Francisco and other locations for conferences, workshops and related events.

+ Relocation may apply to this position
