Finding new reserves and recovering existing reserves is becoming increasingly important. In this Petroleum Geoscience course, you’ll work with geological and geophysical data and be able to apply it in a variety of ways.

How you study
This course is available by distance learning. Study anywhere in the world and fit your studies around your work or family commitments.
Your study resources can be accessed through a Virtual Learning Environment, while you also have access to an extensive online library.
Students also undertake a two-week fieldwork trip in the UK, learning from some of the most advanced minds in the field.
For entry, you need the equivalent of a UK second-class honours degree in a physical science subject, plus work experience in the oil and gas industry (e.g. conducting evaluations of petroleum systems). Any technical oil and gas-related work will be considered.

The MSc also requires access to interpretation software, data, and expert supervision for the project. This normally requires employment in the industry, but we can admit you if can arrange alternative options.
