The University of Liverpool is looking for a dynamic individual to be Facility Manager for the Imaging Centre at Liverpool (ICaL). The ICaL facility contains numerous SEM and TEM instruments focused on the performance of Operando Imaging experiments in gases and liquids. The facility manager will be responsible for the day to day operation of the centre, working closely with the Academic Director, Professor Nigel Browning. This includes managing a small team dedicated to providing the best service possible to both internal and external users. The facility manager will have principal responsibility for managing the business aspects of the centre, now and as it develops within the overall research environment on the University of Liverpool campus. You should have a PhD in the physical sciences or engineering and have 5 years relevant experience in the use of electron microscopy methods. Experience with the management of research teams and the administrative duties associated with the operation of a re-charge service centre are a benefit.
