Postdoctoral Fellowship in Acarology
We are looking for candidates with experience in the area of taxonomy of edaphic mesostigmatid mites, preferably with skill in the elaboration of taxonomic keys using Lucid® program.
The fellow will also participate in field collections and processing of collected mites, collaborate in the preparation of taxonomic catalogs about families of edaphic Mesostigmata, in biosystematic and biological studies.
Activities will be conducted at Departamento de Fitossanidade, in Faculdade de Ciências Agrárias e Veterinárias (FCAV) UNESP, Jaboticabal, São Paulo State, under joint supervision of Prof. Gilberto J. de Moraes and Prof. Dr. Raphael de Campos Castilho, researcher of thematic project "Edaphic mites: diversity, relationship with the microbiota and ecology in natural and cultivated areas in Brazil, with the preparation of databases and keys to identify selected groups".
The postdoctoral fellow will receive a fellowship from FAPESP for 24 months, with possibility for renewal for another 12 months, with the possibility of having installation assistance.
Expected starting date: November 1, 2018.
This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. The selected candidate will receive a São Paulo Research Foundation FAPESP’s Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of BRL 7.373,10 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
