The Physics Department at Virginia Tech invites applications for a Postdoctoral or research Associate position (commensurate with experience) in experimental biophysics, with focus on nanoscale structure and dynamics in biomimetic lipid membranes.
Qualifications: The candidate should hold a PhD in Physics, Physical Chemistry, Biophysics or a closely related field. Experience in one or more of the following skills: expertise in lipid membrane characterization, membrane deposition techniques, and/or protein purification and characterization. Additional expertise in x-ray or neutron scattering is desirable, but not a prerequisite.
Requirements: Include the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, strong verbal and written communication skills, and a high degree of motivation and creativity.
