We are now looking to recruit a Sales Manager to drive the business development for Chemilines Limited through telesales and field sales operations. Reporting to the Director of Sales and Purchasing, the Sales Manager will be accountable for developing and delivering business with major accounts (wholesale & retail), regional wholesalers, regional multiples and retail businesses in line with the approved strategy and given sales targets. The role is full time, permanent Monday-Friday, 40 hrs per week, and requires occasional travel within the UK and to our office in India.


- Manage and develop the sales team to ensure sales targets and business objectives are met.
- Focus on office based telesales function with a remit to oversee and support field based business development staff. Constantly enhance their marketing and sales knowledge, and ensure they apply new learning.
- Develop sales growth targets and strategies for each sales territory (divided into customer segments and product ranges) and manage team members to their deliverables and targets.
- Establish and manage effective programs/systems to compensate, coach, train and appraise sales staff.
- Deliver formal training, mentor and motivate new starters and existing members of the team as and when required (through daily contact and regular meetings).
- Plan work schedules, weekly and monthly timetables to maximize business.
- Provide weekly reports.
- Contribute to and make recommendations for monthly forecasts for the sales territory - broken down by customer segments.
- Contribute to the market intelligence gathering.
- Liaise with Purchasing team and discuss market needs.
- Regularly attend company meetings, technical data presentations and briefings.
- Work within and adhere to company and industry compliance policy and standards of business conduct and ethics.

Skills & Experience

- At least 7 years of experience in sales and business development.
- At least 2 years of experience in team management working with Telesales and field based staff.
- Proven management skills displayed within a similar role.
- Knowledge and experience of the pharmaceutical, medical devices or fragrances market.
- Proven ability to coordinate teams over different geographies and time zones.
- Detailed knowledge of market and competitor information.
- Comprehensive understanding, and implementation of strategic sales methodology and use of account targeting.
- Excellent understanding and knowledge of Microsoft Excel within a business environment. Intermediate knowledge of the Windows 7 and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Category B License driver with a clean driving license.
