The University of Aberdeen looks to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Systematic Theology from August 2019. The successful candidate will hold a PhD in the field of Christian Systematic Theology by the time the appointment is taken up. The Fellowship encompasses three core activities: the successful candidate will (1) pursue advanced personal research in theology, (2) provide sustained and active support of department research in the field, as well as (3) contribute to the teaching of undergraduate and master's level courses.

The main purpose of this role is to enhance the flourishing research culture in Divinity and Religious Studies by undertaking advanced personal research in Christian systematic theology, providing sustained and active support of department research in the field, and contributing to the teaching of undergraduate and master’s level courses.

Applicants should demonstrate a capacity for high-quality theological research and publication. They should possess a clear programme of future research and be willing to work collaboratively on academic endeavours. Prior experience of teaching in higher education and facility in relevant research languages would be desirable.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 6 salary scale (£33,199 - £39,610 per annum) and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.

The proposed start date is 1 August 2019. Any appointment will be made subject to satisfactory references and a 12 month probation period.
