Position Description APPOINTMENTS FROM THE PART-TIME POOL ARE TEMPORARY AND OFTEN MUST MADE JUST PRIOR TO THE START OF THE ACADEMIC TERM, SO APPLICANTS MUST BE AVAILABLE ON VERY SHORT NOTICE.



PHILOSOPHY, PART-TIME LECTURER POOL. The Philosophy Department at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo is seeking applications for a pool of part-time lecturers to teach courses in the Philosophy program with positions available as determined by need and funding during the Fall, Winter and/or Spring quarters of the 2018-2019 academic year, beginning September 13, 2018. Teaching assignments are contingent upon budget and enrollments. Responsibilities and duties may include teaching general education courses such as philosophical classics, critical thinking, and possibly some upper-division general education courses.



Minimum Qualifications (Staff Only)



Required Qualifications / Specialized Skills A Master's or ABD in Philosophy is required. Applicants must document excellence in teaching at the college or university level.



Preferred Qualifications / Skills PH.D. in Philosophy is preferred.



Special Conditions (Staff) Following a conditional offer of employment, a background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate may start work with Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
