Are you interested in working for a world top 100 University? We have an exciting opportunity for a knowledgeable and enthusiastic engineer to join the Applications team in the AMRC Machining Group. Through the interactions with AMRC partners, you will help to develop a vision of the needs and direction of the Aerofoils research area within the Applications team. As a Project Engineer, you will implement and oversee the preparation of materials (work piece, tooling, fixtures, etc.) and set up equipment for experiments and machining demonstrations. Other tasks may include, but are not limited to; carrying out research, running samples and experiments, interpreting results to obtain data for research and monitor component conformance. You will also work alongside Project Managers and Technical Leads to ensure AMRC projects are carried out to meet industrial partner deadlines. You will: • Have a good honours degree in an engineering discipline (or equivalent experience). • Have the ability to manage your time effectively. • Have effective communications skills, both written and verbal. • Have the ability to creatively analyse and solve problems with an appreciation of the longer-term implications. About the Machining Group The Machining Group is part of the AMRC with Boeing and focuses on the research, development and application of state of the art machining technologies (www.amrc.co.uk/capabilities/machining). The group has an excellent track record of developing technology and integrating it into a shop floor environment to demonstrate financial benefit to partners. This ability to translate technological advances into bottom line savings has led to a large growth in demand from especially its aerospace partners and a growing need for skilled engineers with an interest in manufacturing.
