We achieve outstanding results for our teaching and research and with more than 34,000 people choosing to study with us every year, we depend on the dedication of a team of 2,200 academic and professional services staff. Financially strong and seriously ambitious we offer our employees a family-friendly, rewarding career with lots of opportunities to progress.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious and forward-looking academic community within the School of Arts; the School being part of the wider College of Arts, Humanities and Education (AHE). The School of Arts has a strong national and international reputation for the quality of its teaching, resources and student achievement in the arts and creative industries. Our subject areas are rich and diverse, and we deliver UG and PG courses in Art, Design, Film, Photography, Media, Performing Arts, Music and Theatre Arts.
As a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer of the BA (Hons) Film Production programme, you will provide strong module leadership and vision for your subject area (predominantly in the area of scriptwriting) and you will have a passionate commitment to higher education and the challenges it faces. Significant experience in an HE institution of a similar size and complexity is a must, together with a postgraduate qualification and strong applied research and/or evidence of scholarly activity in the discipline relevant to the subject.
The University of Derby is a student-centred, business-focused HE environment, with an open-minded, collaborative and supportive learning culture. We recognise that attracting and retaining talented people is vital to enabling us to achieve our ambitious plans for the future. Therefore, we are committed to being an employer who values ideas, encourages your development and rewards your contribution.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expect everyone who works for us to also share this commitment and to treat people with courtesy and respect.
