IIM Kozhikode invites applications from eligible candidates for faculty positions at various levels in all fields of management as per details are given below:

  1. Professor of Practice

Individuals with an outstanding track record of success in senior leadership positions from private or public organisations.  Successful candidates must demonstrate professional excellence and leadership in management or a closely related field, normally through distinguished service in senior-level positions over an extended period of time. A post-graduation in any discipline with at least 15 years of experience of which at least five years at very senior level is essential.  This position will entail an initial one-year appointment, renewable for one or more years depending upon the performance of the individual and requirement of the Institute.  

 

This is a full-time position and those who are selected are expected to be involved in all the institute activities including teaching, training, consulting and administration. 

 

The selected candidate may be offered a position of ‘Associate Professor of Practice’ or ‘Professor of Practice’ depending on the experience and qualification.

 

Consolidated monthly remuneration will be based on the profile of the individual but will not be less than the total pay drawn by a Professor/Associate Professor as decided from time to time. The existing entry pay of Associate Professor and Professor is Rs 139600/- and Rs 159100/- respectively (excluding allowances).

  1. Emeritus Professor

Senior Professors who have made significant contributions to the theory and practice of management and keen to act as mentors to direct the future of teaching and research in their areas.

A PhD degree in any discipline with at least 10 years of experience at the level of Professor in a reputed national level academic institute is essential.   This position will entail an initial one-year appointment, renewable for one or more years depending upon the requirement of the Institute. Consolidated monthly remuneration will be based on the profile of the individual but will not be less than the total pay drawn by a Professor at HAG (Higher Academic Grade) level as per 7thCPC.

  1. Faculty Fellow/Chair Assistant /Associate Professor

Early career young scholars holding a PhD degree, with demonstrated publication record, interested in working on emerging Greenfield areas/topics.  They are expected to generate significant contribution relevant to theory and practice resulting in high impact scholarly publications and/or influence professional practice by training or consulting during the period of appointment. 

Initially, the appointment will be for a period of three years with an option to join the regular stream after completion of the fellow/chairship.  Selected candidates will be placed as faculty fellow/Chairs in the research centres/projects.

Consolidated monthly remuneration will be based on the profile of the individual but will not be less than the total pay drawn by an Assistant Professor as decided from time to time. In addition, liberal research grants are available based on the specific proposal.

4.Tenure Faculty (Regular Stream) 

Eligibility

Minimum Qualification for all the positions: PhD or equivalent degree in the appropriate branch with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree, with excellent academic record throughout.  Additionally, the candidates must fulfil the following requirements:

Professor

Minimum 10 years teaching/research/industrial experience of which at least 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor in IITs, IIMs, IISc Bangalore, NITIE Mumbai and IISERs or at an equivalent level in other comparable Indian or foreign institutions.

Associate Professor

 Minimum 6 years teaching/research/industrial experience of which at least 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent.

Assistant Professor

Minimum 3 years of teaching/research/industrial experience (excluding the experience gained while pursuing PhD). Fresh PhDs and those with less than three years’ experience may also apply.  However, they will be appointed on a contract basis and will be placed in Assistant Professor-Grade II beginning with Academic Pay Level 10 or 11 depending upon their duration of the experience.  They can apply to the regular position once they acquire the required level of experience.

Compensation (pre-revised scale):

1.    Professor PB-4 (37400-67000) – AGP Rs.10500 (Pay Level-14A as per 7thCPC)

2.    Associate Professor PB-4 (37400-67000) – AGP Rs.9500 (Pay Level-13A2 as per 7thCPC)

3.    Assistant Professor Grade-I - PB-3 (15600-39100) – AGP Rs.8000 (Pay Level-12 as per 7thCPC)

The pay carries allowances and fringe benefits as per norms.
