PSEG is seeking an intern on our Electric Asset Strategy team.

The Electric Asset Strategy group directs and integrates strategic long term asset management focus for Electric Transmission, Substation and Distribution by utilizing reliability centered maintenance, life cycle cost techniques and financial and operational metric to improve and achieve performance measures. We establish policies that reduce O&M while maintaining reliability, project financial risk and budgets for future periods, implement preventative maintenance practices based on asset data (operational, diagnostic, inspection and maintenance history). Our team provides governance and oversight for maintenance programs for transmission, substation and distribution, perform equipment Criticality and Condition Monitoring, increase system diagnostic data flow for the decision making process, and insure PSE&G data system are secure and met NERC and FERC standards.

+ Potential Responsibilities Include but are not limited to: Work with the Engineers within Electric Asset Strategy and data owners to ensure data governance and oversight practices are being followed and bad/stale data is corrected within the following systems

+ PI (SDAMS, SCADA & Weekly Inspection Interfaces)

+ New Assets placed in SAP have inspection data and are included in substation tour (data is being collected)

+ Retired Assets are removed from substation tour

+ Work with team members on completing investment files using the Spend Optimization Suite (SOS) for various capital projects

+ Assist team members with updating the 5 year business plan

+ Works with Asset Strategy, SAP administrator, Division to identify missing assets and accuracy of nameplate/characteristic data within SAP

+ Follow up with Divisions on missing breaker diagnostic tests for recently completed PM maintenance

+ Work with Asset Strategy engineers to support SDAMS projects (TMP, GIS, Pumping Plants) where tasks include commissioning and creating displays using PI Processbook

+ Provide support with the new CMMS Analytics Platform

Required Education/Skills: The successful candidate (s) must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's Degree majoring in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Candidates must have completed sophomore level course work for consideration. Candidates must have excellent oral and verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail. PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. GPA information MUST be included on your resume for employment consideration. Because the job requires driving to company locations and off-site assignments and events, must possess a valid driver's license with a safe and satisfactory driver history.

All PSEG internship roles are paid at an hourly rate, however there are no benefits associated with these positions. Candidates are expected to work 40 hours per week over the summer period for the full 10-12 week period. We are targeting: Currently enrolled students with GPA of 3.0 staying in the NJ/NY/PA metro area for the duration of the internship and able to commute to the assigned work location. Housing, transportation, Immigration Support will not be provided with this position.

As an employee of PSE&G or PSEG Long Island, you should be aware that during storm restoration efforts, you may be required to perform functions outside of your routine duties and on a schedule that may be different from normal operations.
