Duties and Responsibilities

The UCL Medical School is looking to appoint a Teaching Fellow to contribute to the successful delivery of Master's level teaching and Continuous Professional Development courses via face-to-face teaching and distance learning. The post holder will be expected to prepare, mark and assess student assignments and exams, contribute to the departmental teaching and learning strategy and contribute to various university-wide educational quality assurance and quality improvement processes. Involvement with divisional research as and when required is also expected.

The post is available from February 2019 and is open ended.

Key Requirements

The successful candidate will have a good first degree in a relevant subject. A medical degree is essential for appointment as a Clinical Teaching Fellow. Experience of teaching students of health sciences at undergraduate and postgraduate levels is essential. Up to date knowledge to teach medical education, inter-professional education, continuing professional education, and lifelong learning is also essential.

A postgraduate qualification e.g. MSc or PhD in medical education or a relevant discipline is desirable.

Candidates without a medical degree will be appointed as a Teaching Fellow on the UCL grade 7 salary scale. Depending on the position of the applicant within their speciality training, appointment may be on the StR or Junior Doctors pay scale. Candidates without a National Training Number will be appointed as a Clinical Teaching Fellow on grade CL7.
