Professor of Education (1335)

Our internationally renowned Faculty of Education is an engaging and welcoming community of academics, researchers, teaching professionals and industry specialists with a history in education of over 100 years. Based in our £139 million Brooks Building, our facilities, including modern lecture theatres, specialist teaching areas and drop-in resources, are as impressive as our approach to education.

We are looking to appoint one or more leading international scholars and applied educational researchers as Professor(s) in the Faculty of Education. The post(s) will be linked to membership of our world leading research centre, the Education and Social Research Institute (ESRI), see: Schools and ESRI .

We are particularly looking to recruit in the fields of International/Development Education, Science Education, Inclusion, and Education Leadership and Policy, but also welcome strong applications from scholars with other specialisms which map onto our current Research and Knowledge Exchange groups:
Children and Childhood;
Global Education, Citizenship and Policy Studies;
Maths Education;
Language and Literacy Education:
Science and Technology Education;
Teacher Education, Curriculum and Inclusion;
Theory and Methodology;
Youth and Community Education.

This is an opportunity to work with some of the best ideas and brightest minds in the field - people who have helped Education at Manchester Met to acquire a global reputation for its work in the theory and methodology of educational and social research. In REF2014, 67% of our research was rated as 'world leading 'or 'internationally excellent', with100% of our research impact being rated similarly at 4* and 3*.

As well as pursuing your own research and teaching interests your remit will include writing proposals and securing funding, presenting at conferences and forging national and international networks that enhance our research quality, and mentoring Early Career Researchers.

As a faculty, we are confident in our ability to compete on the world stage. You will be part of the future, a professor of education in a great modern university that epitomises the drive and spirit of Manchester, a great global city.
