The Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University seeks a part-time instructor to teach GEO 326, Geography of Climate and Weather (Local Impacts of Global Climate Change), during the Spring 2019 semester, January 14-May 8, 2019, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2:00-3:20 PM (3 credits).

Course Description: This course explores the fundamental behavior of atmospheric dynamics with an emphasis on spatial distributions of energy at several scales. The first part of the course will consider the dynamics of atmospheric behavior in terms of three main factors - heat, moisture and circulation. Thereafter, it will concentrate on applying these ideas to the geographic variability of climate. Human-induced perturbations and modifications of the climate system will be examined through such effects as desertification, climate change, and urban climates.
