Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Industrial Design Grade 8/9
The School of Engineering seeks to appoint a member of staff within the Division of Industrial Design. The appointee will bring appropriate knowledge and understanding, teaching experience and skills to the post and have a clear vision of achieving excellence in research and teaching. You will become a key member of a vibrant and growing team, contributing towards building a centre of excellence in Industrial Design research and education at the University of Liverpool. Applications are invited for appointment on a Teaching and Research (T/R) Career Path and are expected be outstanding individuals with a proven track record of relevant research, teaching and possibly professional activity. Teaching commitments are expected at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. You should have a PhD in Industrial Design, Product Design, Innovation Design Engineering, or a related field. We are particularly interested in individuals with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Human Factors, Cognitive Ergonomics and Behavioural Sciences: multi-sensory design; design for behaviour change; design psychology and sociology; design for perception and cognition.
- Human Centred Design / Sustainable Design: people centred and meaning centred design; product & interface semantics and semiotics; environmentally and socially responsible design.
- Design Thinking, Design Strategy and Innovation Management: theory and process of design thinking in innovative product development; design entrepreneurship; design pedagogy and education and business commercialisation.
- Interaction Design, Human Computer Interaction, Human Machine Interface: User interface (UI); User Experience (UX); product & Interface semantics and semiotics.
