Profile
As a formal minimum requirement, applicants must a hold a PhD awarded on the basis of an original thesis.

The candidate must be associated with the VUB or with an official SOC department. He/she needs to have a minimal 80% WPP appointment within the Faculties Social Sciences & Solvay Business School (ES), Arts & Philosophy (LW), Law & Criminology (RC), Psychology & Educational Sciences (PE) or Physical Education & Physiotherapy (LK-BESW).

The candidate cannot hold a ZAP appointment at a Flemish University.

The candidate must be involved in scientific research and must be able to synergize this appointment and the ongoing scientific research.

The candidate is expected to endorse the educational vision of the university (full text available on the university website).

Female candidates are particularly encouraged to apply.

Members of academic faculty with teaching duties are required to prove their command of the teaching language.

This centre, with all its opportunities, is within your reach by public transport in under half an hour.
Depending on your experience and academic merits you will receive a salary on one of the pay scales laid down by the government. Hospitalisation cover and free use of public transport for travel to and from work are standard conditions of employment. If you would rather cycle to work, compensation is also available for that. Both campuses have extensive sporting facilities which are at your disposal and a nursery is within walking distance.
