North America Quality Control in Product Supply is seeking a motivated Maintenance and Automation Technician to join our team. This position will be located in Waterman, IL reporting to the Operations Manager.

The Maintenance and Automation Technician will work with the Equipment Maintenance Engineer and is responsible for maintenance of laboratory and facility equipment as well as operation and troubleshooting of automation equipment. In addition, this role will work with teams to implement ideas in the atmosphere of continuous improvement to ensure overall equipment and facility operational excellence.


Equipment and Facility Maintenance

+ Perform complex periodic preventive maintenance inspections, procedures, and tasks including but not limited to inspections and minor maintenance on air compressors, vacuum, and rotating equipment

+ Process work requests and other data through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

+ Ability to fabricate workpieces using shop hand tools, drills and taps, circular saw, band saw, miter saw, TIG welding, MIG welding

+ Ability to assemble and test electrical circuits, document and follow ladder diagrams, crimping and soldering where necessary

+ Ability to use various electrical and mechanical measurements devices including micrometers, depth gauges, feeler gauges, dial gauges, multimeter, caliper etc.

+ Familiar with bearings, belts, seals, lubrication, pumps and motors

Automation Support

+ Operate a Human-Machine Interface (HMI) to run automated equipment

+ Initiate and implement continuous improvement opportunities, including enhancements to safety, quality, costs and workplace environment by recognizing patterns and logically determining the root cause of issues to implement solutions

+ Support new automation and facility projects from implementation to operational use including development of training and documentation for automation solutions

+ Understand facility Building Automation System and identify problems and provide solutions

**Minimum Qualifications:**

+ High School Diploma or equivalent (GED), preferably Associate's degree or equivalent certifications in related field.

+ Minimum of two years related experience and training, preferably in industrial maintenance.

+ Experience operating HMI (Human-Machine Interface) on automated equipment

+ Microsoft Word and Excel.

+ Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering Technology, Science, Agriculture or similar area

+ Strong mechanical and electric/electronic aptitude with a proven ability to troubleshoot complex automation systems/subsystems for maintenance and system improvements

+ Design of automated solutions including hardware, software, and electrical systems
