As part of an exciting new collaboration established between BT, Huawei and the University of Cambridge, we wish to recruit up to four postdoctoral researchers at Research Associate level or Senior Research Associate level for exceptional candidates, to conduct research into fibre-optic communication systems.

The postdoctoral researcher will be focussed on collaborative projects with BT, Huawei and Cambridge covering high capacity optical networks and coherent PON technology.

The post holder will be located in West Cambridge Cambridgeshire, UK.

The key responsibilities and duties are research into fibre-optic communication systems along with liaising with the project partners.

Candidates must have obtained a PhD degree in Engineering or a related scientific discipline. They should have experience of digital communications and signal processing optical fibre communication systems and knowledge of digital coherent transceivers and associated digital signal processing. Candidates must have a demonstrable ability to communicate with industrial partners, a record of publishing high quality research in high quality journals and at the leading conferences in the field. They must be able to demonstrate the ability to collaborate broadly within the field.

Salary Range: Research Associate £32,236 - £39,609 or Senior Research Associate £40,792 - £51,630

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 24 months in the first instance.
